Deep Thoughts on My City of Ruins

Hey this is Dave Man the Cave Man! I’m taking on the posting responsibilities for Matt’s website (What a honor!). I have been a long time brother of Matts for 22 years now and I have loved every minute of it.

Matt Munhall is flying high in CBus and is rocking mad vocals in his cover of My City of Ruins by the Boss! It’s amazing how music brings us all together, lifts us up, and gives us hope during these trying times. Matt Munhall’s flowing hair, and boisterous voice illuminates the song to new heights. The song is inspirational and warms the soul. Take a peak at the video when you have time and I know everyone has 5 minutes to spare. Take care everyone and may God be with you!

I Met Mr. Dylan

I got to meet Mr. Dylan once because of Charlie Sexton taking me to a show. We had just finished making a record together. And I can tell you from being near Bob a few times and having met him once, he certainly contains multitudes. I’ll just say this – nobody ever looked me over back-and-forth and up-and-down for as long as Bob Dylan did . He didn’t look pleased!!! (Who is this guy with cheap clothes and a red face, and why is he standing next to Charlie!)

Hahaha…Enjoy this awesome song – don’t forget this man has not stopped touring in several decades. Pretty sure you’re gonna make it to heaven before they close the door Bob:-) oh, one more thing- I paid Charlie 1000 bucks to play on my record he never cashed the check I texted him once and said did you wash the check in your jeans or something ? and he said “least I can do” wow that was amazing – huge heart there / thank you Charlie Sexton

Miracle on Broad Street CD Release Concert

Dear music friends,

It’s been a while, Happy Holidays to you! Hope you have some quality time to be with the people you cherish… I have two exciting things to share with you. First I’ll write about the new CD pictured above, then I’ll let you know about my plans to make a Matt Munhall Christmas album this year!

I was blessed to be able to help write, play piano, and sing on a handful of tracks for a new charity album of original Christian music titled Miracle on Broad Street with Parker MacDonell, a long time collaborator. It’s available online now on iTunes and Spotify. Here is a version of Blind Bartimaeus that I sing and play solo on the new album. You will be blown away by the sound of the 9 foot Bösendorfer piano I recorded it on in the sanctuary at Broad Street Presbyterian. https://open.spotify.com/track/5sHDFoMsveYNG1Zpv0XwuC

CDs are available for a donation of $10 plus shipping and handling by contacting Rosalind Swayne at (614) 221-6552 or office@BSPC.org.  Order in the next day or two if you want them in time for Christmas! All proceeds in excess of the costs of the project will be donated to the Broad Street Food Pantry and Catholic Relief Services.

You are invited to the cd release concert at Broad Street Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ohio, on February 3, 2018 at 7pm. The concert will be exceptional and it’s free!

And now, I want to announce to all that I’m planning to make a Matt Munhall Christmas Album with Brad Jones in Nashville in 2018 and put on an awesome Christmas show in Columbus, Ohio, next December to release it!  I hope to launch a kickstarter campaign soon to raise money to make the recording through pre-sales of the cd and tickets to the Christmas show.
I wish you and yours a beautiful and sacred holiday season, and a fruitful and joyous 2018.
My very best,

Matt Munhall
